Boy Scout Den Leader Kicked Out For Being Homosexual

An Ohio mother, Jennifer Tyrell, has been banned from being her son's Cub Scout Den leader because the Boy Scouts of America recently found out that she was a lesbian. The Boy Scouts have a policy of banning all homosexuals from being leaders or members, stating that "Our mission does not include teaching young people about sex or sexual orientation, and we do not believe it is Scouting's role to introduce this topic in our youth development program." Everyone in Pack 109 are upset, as are the parents of the children, as Tyrell was selected for Den leader because everyone loves her, and the parents are trying to raise their children not to discriminate because of differences. Other associations such as The Girl Scouts of America, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the 4-H Club all accept gay and lesbian members, and there have been no problems regarding it. How can we expect our children to be accepting of differences when  those who are discriminated against?

Meat Pies, Anyone?

In Sao Paulo, Brazil, 3 have been arrested for murder and suspected cannibalism. 51-year-old Jorge Beltrao Negroponte, his wife, Cristina da Silveira, and his mistress, Bruna da Silva, were arrested for luring 2 young women into their house with jobs, and then Negroponte murdered them, and the two women consumed part of the bodies. Negroponte said he that he was following the instructions of voices in his head. "I did certain things for purification, to protect people and deliver them to God," he said, and said the women consumed the flesh to “purify them”. Silveira then baked the remaining flesh into meat pies and sold them throughout the town. A five year old girl living with the family, who is believed to be the daughter of a previous victim, was the one who showed the remains to police. It is suspected that there have been over ten victims of this iniquity.

Alcohol = No Prom

Any teens planning on drinking before prom this year better think again, as some schools are putting breathalyzer tests into action at prom. Kids in Cedarburg High School, WI are among those receiving the tests. The tests will be given to randomly selected students upon arrival, and if any trace of alcohol is discovered, students are not admitted. This is not new to students of nearby Germantown High School, who are breathalyzed at many school sponsored events. Here, punishment is more extreme, as anyone with alcohol on their breath may be expelled. Many parents are fans of these tests, as they hope it will help to keep their children safe, but some are saying that it is distrustful and an invasion of privacy. Will this help keep teens sober?
